Work Experiences
This section provides an in-depth look at my diverse work experiences – an extended resume, if you will. Throughout my diverse range of positions, I've developed numerous skills, enriching my versatility and adaptability across different roles and industries.
Opera Theatre of Saint Louis
Budget Success:
Leading up to the festival season, I meticulously managed expenses, crafting a spreadsheet to keep us organized while also maintaining costs impressively. Starting with an $8500 budget, I spent just $3314.48, leaving $5184.52 unspent – a remarkable 61% below budget.
Artist Travel Coordination:
I arranged air travel and managed mileage reimbursements for 97 artists, hailing from 31 states and 6 countries. This involved extensive communication with the artists, requiring thorough communication to ensure accurate capture of all details.
I dedicated significant time to researching the most affordable and optimal flight options for each singer, meticulously comparing costs across various airlines and booking platforms.
Artist Accommodation:
Artists began arriving in April and stayed until July, which required me to collaborate closely with other members of the artistic team to synchronize my bookings with their accommodation arrangements. With numerous moving parts to the festival season, it was imperative that we work together as a team to ensure everyone is on the same page.
Management of Mileage Reimbursements:
I handled mileage reimbursements for incoming young artists, mapping out their routes and using mileage forms to calculate the owed amounts for their travels. By adhering to AGMA regulations, which cap the payout at $500 for roundtrip mileage, I ensured compliance and fair compensation for their journeys.
I conducted research on typical roundtrip airfare for 20 artists. Then, I processed check requests for 20 artists who were entitled to cash equivalents under AGMA regulations if they opted to drive instead of fly. This process ensured fair reimbursement in accordance with union guidelines.
2024 Program Headshots Assistance:
Corresponding with the artists, I gathered all headshots and ensured proper formatting for the 2024 program publications. In cases where images were unavailable, I liaised with artist managers to obtain better pictures, maintaining consistency and quality throughout the process.
Artist Management with Excel and Smartsheet:
Every day, I relied on Excel and SmartSheet to track artists' contact details, operatic roles, flight schedules, departure and arrival dates, as well as housing information. This system not only kept me organized but also honed my skills in spreadsheet management, ensuring seamless coordination and efficient communication with all stakeholders.
Music Preparation and Shipment:
I assisted in printing and binding music materials for artists, facilitating their preparation for the upcoming season. I then packaged and mailed the music to artists across the United States, ensuring they had everything they needed to excel in their performances.
Airport Transportation Coordination:
I organized airport transportation for nearly 80 artists, working closely with the OTSL travel committee to ensure a seamless arrival experience for all. I inputted each artist's contact and flight details into the spreadsheet for smooth coordination.

Artist Archival Creation:
I spearheaded the creation of an artist archival spreadsheet, compiling the names of 550 artists who have performed with the opera theatre since 1999. This comprehensive project involved extensive research of 100+ hours to gather and record their contact information, manager details, current activities, latest performances, ongoing involvement in opera, and their repertoire at OTSL.
ArtsVision Entry:
I carefully inputted each artist and their roles into ArtsVision, providing a comprehensive database with casting information since 1976. This ensured that production, development, artistic, and other departments have access to the complete roster of each artist, aiding in future casting decisions and facilitating seamless collaboration across departments.
Rehearsal Schedule Creation:
I played a key role in crafting daily rehearsal schedules, ensuring no artist was overbooked and rearranging times to accommodate every artist's availability. Additionally, with up to 20 private vocal lessons per day, along with meetings, costume fittings, and more, I closely monitored each artist's schedule and adhered to AGMA guidelines to ensure fair compensation.
Event Setup and Hospitality Assistance:
I assisted in setting up masterclasses, auditions, and staff meetings, handling tasks such as arranging chairs, pianos, signage, and refreshments. I warmly greeted donors and guests at the door, ensuring they felt welcomed and valued at our events.
Artistic Duty Support and Performance Assistance:
A few times per week, I was on Artistic Duty, which involved attending multiple opera performances. I helped artists with their check-ins for performances, provided assistance with injuries/illnesses, and ensured the safety and supervision of children's chorus members at all times.
Receipt Organization and Efficient Billing:
I organized and filed all receipts from Amex purchases to facilitate timely bill payments. This included consolidating receipts and completing check request forms for submission to the finance department.
Rehearsal Hour Tracking:
I tracked rehearsal hours for each artist weekly to ensure compliance with AGMA regulations regarding fair compensation. If any artist was overbooked, I assisted in modifying their rehearsal schedule accordingly.
